Job Description
Our client within Capital Markets Risk Management is seeking a Senior Analyst to support the Market Risk Solutions team.

This individual will play a key role in delivering market risk initiatives while supporting ongoing business operations.

The team is responsible for developing and enhancing market risk measurement, reporting, regulatory capital calculations, and risk systems that support enterprise-wide market risk management.

This is a highly business-facing role requiring strong Market Risk domain expertise, business analysis capabilities, and project delivery experience.

The ideal candidate will be a self-sufficient professional who can manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, work across diverse stakeholder groups, and apply critical thinking to solve complex risk-related challenges.

Approximately 85% of the role focuses on project delivery and change initiatives, while 15% involves supporting production investigations, operational issues, and BAU activities.

Key Responsibilities
Market Risk & Business Analysis
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to market risk initiatives
- Assess current-state processes, identify gaps, and recommend future-state solutions
- Translate complex market risk concepts into actionable business and system requirements
- Support enhancements to market risk measurement, reporting, monitoring, and regulatory capital frameworks
- Work closely with risk managers, technology teams, quantitative teams, Finance, Front Office, and other stakeholders
- Support delivery of market risk and regulatory initiatives including FRTB and Basel III CVA requirements
Project Delivery




- Manage multiple concurrent projects, enhancements, and change requests
- Coordinate project activities, testing efforts, stakeholder signoffs, and implementation timelines
- Drive issue resolution and overcome business or technical obstacles impacting delivery
- Operate effectively within Agile and Waterfall delivery environments
Risk & Operational Support
- Investigate production issues and assist with root cause analysis
- Support risk reporting, limit monitoring, and risk system processes
- Assist in maintaining operationally sustainable market risk solutions

Skills and Requirements

Market Risk Expertise
- Strong understanding of Market Risk Management concepts
- Extensive experience working within Market Risk environments at a bank or financial institution
- Knowledge of: Market Risk metrics, Value at Risk (VaR), Stress Testing, Sensitivities, Back Testing, Regulatory Capital frameworks, FRTB (Fundamental Review of the Trading Block), Basel III CVA

Business Analysis
- Proven Business Analyst experience within banking, capital markets, or insurance organizations
- Solid requirements gathering and documentation skills
- Current-state and future-state process analysis experience
- Experience facilitating stakeholder discussions and driving consensus
- Ability to independently lead analysis activities from inception to delivery

Project Delivery
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, constantly changing environments
- Strong understanding of project lifecycles and change management processes

Technical & Data Skills
- SQL
- Python
- Advanced Excel
- Experience working with large datasets FRM Designation
Experience within Cap Markets Market Risk teams
Experience at Top 5 Canadian Bank
