Domtar is seeking a Finishing and Shipping Supervisor for its Thunder Bay Sawmill, Ontario. Oversee log yard operations and ensure compliance with safety measures in this full-time role.
As a Finishing and Shipping Supervisor, you will play a key role in coordinating log deliveries and managing kiln operations. This position focuses on optimizing processes and enhancing safety standards while supervising a dedicated team. Collaborate with various departments to maintain excellence in log handling and shipping outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise log yard and shipping operations
• Manage inventories and implement quality controls
• Train employees on safety protocols and procedures
• Communicate with maintenance supervisors for efficiency
• Manage documentation for reports and administrative tasks
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or similar field
• 3 to 5 years experience in a supervisory capacity
• Robust communication and analytical skills
• Proficiency in computer systems, including MS Office
• Knowledge of sawmill machinery and processes
