As a Child Welfare Advocate, you represent the Kitasoo Xai’xais Nation's interests in systems involving local children and families. This full time role requires a commitment to cultural advocacy and effective navigation of complex child welfare processes. Your work ensures families receive culturally relevant support and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support families in understanding their rights and systems
• Attend and represent at key meetings and court sessions
• Facilitate cultural engagements for children outside the community




• Liaise between families and child welfare agencies
• Maintain confidential case records and reporting

Requirements:
• Diploma in Child & Youth Care or similar preferred
• Relevant experience in advocacy or social work
• Knowledge of Indigenous rights and child welfare laws
• Excellent communication and support skills
• Valid Class 5 BC driver's license and clear background check
