THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are seeking an experienced Retirement Consultant to join our Toronto team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional who enjoys serving as a trusted advisor to clients, leading complex pension projects, mentoring emerging talent, and helping organizations navigate evolving retirement challenges.

We're looking for a consulting professional who combines strong technical expertise with exceptional relationship-building skills.

THE ROLE:
As a Retirement Consultant, you will serve as a trusted partner to clients and an influential leader within the retirement practice.

Responsibilities include:

Leading client relationships and presenting strategic recommendations to boards, committees, and senior stakeholders.

Advising clients on complex actuarial and retirement matters, including funding, risk management, plan design, plan mergers, wind-ups, annuity buy-outs, and stochastic projections.

Reviewing valuation reports and actuarial analyses to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with applicable standards.

Managing multiple projects and priorities while delivering exceptional client service.

Participating in innovative and emerging retirement initiatives that address evolving industry and client needs.

Providing mentorship, coaching, and technical guidance to analysts and junior consultants.

Collaborating with colleagues across disciplines to develop practical solutions for clients' retirement programs.





Participating on special projects designed to address emerging and/or unique retirement issues posed by client organizations.

Working with a diverse portfolio of multiemployer, public sector, and single-employer clients , you will play a key role in delivering strategic consulting advice and high-quality actuarial solutions while collaborating with a team of highly skilled retirement professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years of Canadian pension actuarial and retirement consulting experience, preferably within an employee benefits consulting environment.

Strong knowledge of pension funding rules across Canada.

Working knowledge of FASB and IAS 19 accounting standards.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex actuarial concepts for a variety of audiences.

Proven experience building trusted client relationships and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with multiemployer and public sector defined benefit pension plans.

Actuarial credentials (ACIA, FCIA, ASA, FSA, or equivalent).

Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing junior professionals.

The current salary range for this position is $100,000-$140,000 plus opportunity for a discretionary performance bonus based on company profitability and employee performance.
