Shift: Monday to Friday: 3:30 pm – 12:00 am (40 hours/week)Pay Rate: $40.19 /hourLocation: 220 Joseph Zatzman Dr, Dartmouth, NS B3B 1P4The Diesel Mechanic inspects, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs assigned on‑/off‑road and heavy‑duty equipment to ensure proper function, vehicle safety and meet quality and performance goals.ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair on‑/off‑road and heavy‑duty vehicles and equipment to meet preventative maintenance schedules, ensure proper function and meet vehicle safety and quality goals.Assist with entering data in the mechanic’s maintenance and repair database (e.G., Web Fleet Assistant (WFA)).Communicate concerns or escalates unusually complex or persistent problems to the Foreman or other manager.Respond to service calls for equipment breakdowns when no supervisor is available to assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues arising from the Control Room, Dispatch, or Drivers.EducationHeavy Duty Diesel Mechanics license.Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clear driver’s abstract that meets Purolator’s insurance requirements (Class 1 preferred).Experience3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic is required.SkillsTroubleshoot Mechanical and Collision Repairs.Service Reports and Logs Maintenance.POSTING DETAILSLocation: 527 – Dartmouth (North)Working Conditions:
