What You Will Do

Summary The new St. Paul’s Hospital will open its doors to serve the residents of the Vancouver and the Greater Vancouver area February 2027.

As we move into the final phase of the project, i.e., Transitional Planning and Activation, the project team will be focusing on supporting the units and services that will be moving into the current facility. Encompassed within transitional planning is the need to plan for and finalize final equipment, technology, furniture fit out, staff orientation and training, staff participation in simulation exercises and day in the life scenarios, as well as plan for and support staff in the move to the new facility.

The project team is seeking a Transition Project Manager who will be responsible for the activation and readiness of the following areas on opening day:

- Urban Health Clinics
- Emergency Department
- Road to Recovery Teams

This is a full-time, temporary, excluded position, commencing as soon as possible and continuing through March 2027. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, daytime hours. Candidates must have experience supporting a healthcare redevelopment project and/or possess a clinical background with a strong understanding of daily hospital operations. Strong computer proficiency is required, including experience with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and PDF-based applications and documents. In this role, the Transition Project Manager will work closely with and provide support to the Clinical and Equipment Project Leads, collaborating across programs and services as they prepare for and transition into the new hospital. Reporting to the Director, Transition Planning, the Project Manager:




- Leads and manages large-scale projects or components of major projects to ensure that project deliverables are completed on time and on budget, as described in the project plan.
- Using extensive project management expertise, leads and manages project activities including financial responsibility for the project and management of resources as deemed necessary to meet the schedule and budget for project deliverables.
- Works with stakeholders at all levels and inspires others to achieve goals and deliverables through facilitation, effective communication of the organization's mission, vision and values, and ensuring the culture is one in which individual competencies can thrive.
- Establishes project team and provides leadership, guidance and support to designated staff, project members and consultants to keep within project scope, quality expectations, and timelines and coordinates related activities to advance the project vision through exceptional delivery.

What You Bring

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a related field plus seven (7) to ten (10) years' recent, related experience that includes successfully managing significant large projects or initiatives, and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
