Pause and Reframe Psychotherapy
Canada
Pause and Reframe Psychotherapy is a trauma-informed psychotherapy practice offering virtual services to clients across Ontario. We work with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, stress, anger, attachment, ADHD, relationships, self-esteem, life transitions, and other experiences that may leave them feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
Our approach is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centred. We believe therapy should meet clients where they are while creating space for them to better understand themselves, develop meaningful coping strategies, and work toward goals that feel right for them.
Our work draws from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), trauma-focused approaches, attachment-based therapy, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and Self-in-Relationship Psychotherapy (SIRP).
At Pause and Reframe, therapy is structured yet relaxed, with an emphasis on creating a supportive, non-judgmental workplace where clients are actively involved in their therapeutic process.
Role Description
Pause and Reframe Psychotherapy is growing, and we are looking to welcome a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) or Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) to the practice as an independent contractor.
This is a fully virtual position, providing psychotherapy to clients across Ontario. There is no required minimum caseload, making this an opportunity for a therapist who would like to gradually build their practice or add to an existing caseload. The therapist will provide individual psychotherapy,
including intake assessments, collaborative treatment planning, ongoing psychotherapy, clinical documentation, and monitoring client progress.
We are particularly interested in connecting with a therapist who enjoys working in areas such as trauma, anxiety, stress, anger, attachment, ADHD, relationships, self-esteem, and life transitions. Experience across all of these areas is not required.
The successful candidate will have autonomy in their clinical work while also having access to the infrastructure and support of an established private practice, including referrals, administrative systems, marketing, and opportunities for clinical consultation and supervision.
Clinical supervision is available for RP(Q)s or other clinicians who require supervision toward CRPO requirements.
Qualifications
- Registered Psychotherapist (RP) or Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
- Master’s degree in counselling, psychotherapy, psychology, or a related field
- Experience providing individual psychotherapy
- A trauma-informed, client-centred, and collaborative approach to clinical work
- Strong therapeutic rapport and interpersonal skills
- Sound clinical judgment and commitment to ethical, evidence-informed practice
- Solid clinical documentation and record-keeping skills
- Commitment to confidentiality, professional boundaries, and CRPO standards
- An open-minded, compassionate, and non-judgmental approach to client care.
- Willingness to engage in consultation, supervision when applicable, ongoing learning, and reflective practice
- Reliable access to a private and confidential space suitable for providing virtual psychotherapy
As part of the practice, you will have access to:
- Client referrals and support with building your caseload
- Practice marketing and a therapist profile on the Pause and Reframe website
- Jane practice management and electronic health record systems
- Online booking, billing, and administrative infrastructure
- Clinical consultation and support
- Clinical supervision, where required
- Flexibility in establishing your caseload and availability
- The opportunity to grow alongside a growing psychotherapy practice
This position may be especially well suited to an RP(Q) looking to build their private practice caseload while receiving ongoing clinical supervision and support, although applications from RPs are also warmly welcomed.
Pause and Reframe Psychotherapy is committed to creating a supportive, collaborative practice environment that respects each therapist’s individual clinical style while maintaining high standards of ethical and client-centred care.
