Instructional Designer – Hybrid Role

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Instructional Designer to design and deliver training workshops, conferences, and other educational presentations on a variety of field and corporate subjects. This role partners closely with subject matter experts to translate complex information into clear, practical learning solutions that can be delivered to stakeholders at different levels of knowledge in an effective, efficient, and enjoyable manner.

Responsibilities

This role calls for strong analytical and instructional design capabilities—you’ll be responsible for researching materials in preparation for workshop creation, as well as the management of subject matter and course materials. Your day may consist of:

- Develop training content and initiatives for all of the company's business units and customers.
- Gather and analyze information to design, develop, and deliver new training programs that are efficient and effective.
- Determine cost benefit analysis of training needs and implementation strategies to optimize resources.
- Present course material to employees through a traditional classroom approach, one-on-one coaching, virtual, or other methods using PCs, instructional videos, written materials, and others.
- Perform training needs analysis by assessing the skill level, performance, and competence learners.
- Conduct validation activities, exams, and formal training plan reviews or updates, as applicable; make recommendations based on results.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and suggest improvements to be made in training processes to senior management; develop strategies for process improvement.
- Monitor training systems and advise executive team on system performance; publish statistics regarding performance against set goals.
- Promote and advocate the concepts of peak performance and self-improvement across the organization.
- Identify relevant training needs, documentation, and opportunities.




- Develop web-based training and videos.
- Track participant enrolment, progress, marks, and other information by maintaining a database.
- Establish and maintain familiarity with the latest in texts, materials, teaching aids, and training techniques relevant to the organization and its goals and objectives.
- Generate positive attitudes and high morale in employees by nurturing a culture of cooperation and enthusiasm.
- Continuous improvement of new and existing training content and programs.
- Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in human resources, communications, or adult education.
- Minimum 2 years of direct work experience as a corporate Instructional Designer.
- Direct experience assessing training needs, creating training materials to fulfill those needs, and then delivering the training.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to train, coach, evaluate, and improve others.
- Ability to custom-fit training materials to individual needs, including accessibility needs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Solid attention to detail, observation, and organizational skills.
- Experience creating high-quality presentations using a variety of technologies (Microsoft PowerPoint, Canva, Articulate, etc.).
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Bilingual (English/French) preferred.
- Will undergo criminal background check, and sign a non-solicitation agreement.
