The Opportunity

We are looking for an Autoplan & Personal Lines Advisor to join our team at GBG Insurance Services. We welcome applications from experienced insurance professionals as well as individuals who have recently passed their Level 1 licensing exam and are looking to begin their career in the insurance industry. Punjabi-speaking candidates are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Autoplan & Personal Lines Advisor is a key member of our team. The Advisor’s primary focus is to provide front-line customer service Autoplan & Personal Lines policies and take responsibility for the retention and account development of existing clients, as well as quoting and placing new business as required.

Compensation withing the posted range will be based on licensing, relevant experience and qualifications, with newly licensed candidates generally toward the lower end of the range.

Specific Responsibilities Include

- Servicing ongoing client needs, advising on insurance matters, conducting needs assessments, recommending solutions, answering inquiries, conducting calls, and processing renewals
- Selling new policies and writing new business for existing or new clients, while retaining the existing book of business in an effort to grow the book of business
- Issuing invoices and following up with clients to collect payment
- Generating sales leads through current opportunities and existing resources
- Contacting underwriters and adjusters to discuss guidelines and policies
- Preparing documentation for insurers, completing applications for clients,



issuing insurance certificates, and processing policy changes and renewals
- Keeping current on underwriting rules and workflow processes
- Actively participating in training initiatives
- Participating in community marketing initiatives

Required Skills

- High School and/or Post-Secondary Education
- Level 1 General Insurance Licence, or successful completion of the applicable Level 1 licensing exam with eligibility to obtain the licence
- Candidates who have recently completed their licensing requirements and are looking to begin their insurance career are encouraged to apply
- Fluency in Punjabi is a strong asset, and Punjabi-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply
- Previous Autoplan & Personal Lines experience is preferred but is not required for an otherwise qualified candidate
- Strong customer focus and administration skills
- Must be proficient in MS Office tools and have the ability to learn and work within insurance management systems
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities successfully
- Strong organizational skills
- Must be able to work as part of a team as well as independently in a competitive industry and be committed to superior customer service
- Appliced Epic, Applied TAM or PowerBroker experience considered an asset
