LAG Automotive Group is looking for an experienced Controller who can bring accuracy, organization, leadership, and a solid business mindset to our dealership.

This isn’t a role where you simply close the books and send out reports.

We’re looking for someone who understands the story behind the numbers, spots issues before they become problems, keeps the dealership moving, and can confidently partner with the General Manager and leadership team to make smart decisions.

What You’ll Own

As Controller, you’ll oversee the financial and administrative functions of the dealership, including:

- Leading the dealership accounting function and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting
- Managing month-end and year-end processes
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, schedules, reconciliations, and supporting reports
- Monitoring cash flow, expenses, receivables, payables, inventory, and key dealership accounts
- Reviewing vehicle deals and ensuring transactions are complete, accurate, and properly recorded
- Maintaining strong internal controls and identifying opportunities to improve processes
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Working closely with the General Manager to understand dealership performance and identify opportunities
- Ensuring manufacturer, lender, tax, payroll, and regulatory requirements are handled accurately and on time
- Supporting payroll and employee-related administration in partnership with our corporate teams
- Providing leadership, coaching, and direction to accounting and administrative staff
- Working collaboratively with Finance, Talent & Experience, department managers, and the broader Landsperg Automotive Group team

Who We’re Looking For





You don’t need someone standing over your shoulder telling you what needs to happen.

You understand deadlines matter. Details matter. Accuracy matters. And you know that a great Controller is not just an accountant, they’re an operational partner.

You’ll likely be a strong fit if you have:

- Previous dealership accounting or Controller experience
- Strong knowledge of automotive dealership financial operations
- Experience preparing and analyzing dealership financial statements
- Strong reconciliation, reporting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
- Confidence working directly with senior leaders and department managers
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- A high level of integrity, discretion, and accountability
- Experience with dealership management systems such as CDK or PBS considered a strong asset
- Advanced Excel skills and strong overall computer proficiency
- The ability to lead people while still being willing to roll up your sleeves when needed

A CPA designation is an asset, but practical dealership experience, leadership ability, and strong financial judgment matter just as much to us.
