We are currently seeking experienced B-Pressure Rig Welders to join our oilfield construction team for shop fabrication work in Blackfalds and field projects across Alberta. We are looking for reliable, safety-focused individuals with strong mechanical aptitude who work well in a team environment and are motivated to deliver high-quality results.

Please note: Applications will only be considered from candidates who are local within 1hr to the Blackfalds area. No Living Out Allowance (LOA) is provided for yard fabrication work. Field install projects may receive LOA TBD throughout Alberta.

Requirements

Welding Rig & Equipment

Candidates must provide a fully equipped welding rig suitable for pipe fabrication and/or mainline pipeline work, including:

- Welding machine capable of producing a minimum of 325 amps
- Ability to weld with 1/4" 7018 electrodes
- Fabrication table
- Pipe stands
- Counterweights
- Equipment capable of handling pipe sizes ranging from 2" to 12" diameter

Experience & Qualifications

- Minimum of 3 years of relevant B-pressure welding experience on 2-12 inch piping spools
- Ability to produce 80-100 diameter inches of weld per day
- Experience working with ISO metric drawings
- Knowledge of various grades of carbon steel
- Ability to identify, track, and record heat numbers from materials to drawings
- Pipe fabrication
- Mainline pipeline welding
- CWB structural welding

Safety Certifications





Preferred candidates will hold current certifications including:

- CSTS and CSO
- H2S Alive
- Standard First Aid
- WHMIS

Additional project-specific certifications may be required depending on the assignment.

Work Schedule

- Immediate start available
- Work schedules may extend up to 7 days per week depending on project requirements for shop fabrication
- Field work TBD per job basis

- Maximum pipe sizes your setup can accommodate
- Proof of a registered company in valuable standing
- Proof of a minimum $2,000,000 Commercial General Liability Insurance
- Valid GST Number
- Current WCB (Workers' Compensation Board) account in good standing
- Photos of your welding rig (if available)
- Copies of all welding and safety certifications
- Three professional references

Compensation

Compensation will be discussed with selected candidates during the interview process. Certain consumables will be supplied by Vise Energy services.
