Cook, Tamil Cuisine, Jaffna Street Food (Downtown Toronto)

Jaffna Street Food is a Sri Lankan Tamil spot on Dundas St W near the AGO. We're a small, busy kitchen looking for a cook who knows this food well and takes pride in getting it right every plate.

What you'll be doing

- Cooking to order: curries, kothu roti, string hoppers, rice and curry plates, short eats
- Prepping sauces, gravies and bases at the start of shift
- Keeping the line stocked, clean and organized through service
- Following our recipes so the food tastes the same every time
- Helping take counter or phone orders during quieter stretches

What we're looking for

- Real experience cooking Tamil or Sri Lankan food, whether that's in a restaurant, catering, or a busy home kitchen you can speak to
- Comfortable on a hot line during a rush
- Reliable and on time. That matters more to us than anything on paper




- Food Handler Certification, or willing to get one (we'll help)
- Tamil language is an asset for taking orders from our regulars, but not required

Details

- Full time and part time positions available
- Starting at $17.60 per hour, with raises once we see how you work. We move quickly on this for people who are worth it
- Evenings and weekends required
- Staff meal on shift
