Parts Manager

A successful automotive dealership in the Edmonton area is searching for an experienced Parts Manager to lead a busy and essential part of its operation.

This role is suited to someone who understands that a strong Parts Department is about more than inventory. It requires dependable processes, engaged employees, productive relationships with Service and Sales, and the ability to make sound decisions that support both customers and the business.

Your Mandate

As Parts Manager, you will have ownership of the department’s people, performance and day-to-day operation. Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing direction, coaching and support to the Parts team
- Managing inventory levels, ordering practices and stock accuracy
- Improving fill rates while controlling aged and obsolete inventory
- Monitoring sales, gross profit, expenses and departmental performance
- Establishing effective processes for receiving, stocking and distributing parts
- Maintaining productive relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Supporting internal Service and Sales teams with timely parts availability
- Ensuring retail and wholesale customers receive responsive, knowledgeable service
- Reviewing reports and using performance data to identify opportunities
- Recruiting, training and developing department employees
- Maintaining a safe, organized and efficient working environment

What You Bring

We are looking for a candidate with:

- Several years of automotive dealership parts experience
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Strong knowledge of inventory control and automotive parts operations




- Experience managing departmental financial results and key performance indicators
- The ability to coach employees and build an accountable, service-focused team
- Confidence working with dealership management systems and parts catalogues
- Strong planning, communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to collaborate effectively with other dealership departments
- A valid driver’s licence and acceptable driving record

Related post-secondary education, manufacturer training or industry certification would be considered an asset.
