Position Summary
The Carpentry / Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising, coordinating and scheduling employees involved in the preparation, repair, assembly, manufacturing, handling and organization of furniture, props building, wood products, fixtures and related materials.
The position coordinates daily workflow according to current and upcoming customer orders, ensures that required materials and products are prepared in advance, assigns tasks to employees, assists with carpentry-related work when required, and coordinates warehouse activities with delivery and other operational requirements for both companies.
The position also provides day-to-day guidance to workers, identifies work-related problems, assists in resolving operational issues, and supports the company in maintaining efficient, safe and organized work procedures.
Hours: 30–40 hours per week
Employment: Permanent, full time

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The employee will perform some or all of the following duties:
1. Supervise, coordinate and schedule the daily activities of workers involved in carpentry-related repairs, prop and furniture construction, assembly, preparation, handling and organization of furniture, wooden products, fixtures and related materials.
2. Establish daily work priorities and coordinate work activities according to current and upcoming customer orders, delivery schedules and operational requirements.
3. Review job orders and upcoming schedules to determine the materials, furniture, fixtures and supplies required for scheduled work.
4. Requisition,
organize and verify materials and supplies required for scheduled jobs and ensure that required items are available and properly prepared before orders are dispatched.
5. Inspect furniture, wooden products and related materials to identify items requiring repair, maintenance, construction, assembly or preparation before they are used or delivered.
6. Assign tasks and coordinate employees according to workload, job requirements, employee availability and established work schedules.
7. Perform and assist with carpentry-related repairs, construction, assembly and preparation of furniture and wooden components when required by operational needs.
8. Resolve day-to-day work problems and recommend practical measures to improve productivity, workflow, organization and completion of scheduled work.
9. Provide training, instruction and guidance to employees regarding work procedures, equipment use, job requirements and safe working practices.
10. Monitor compliance with workplace safety procedures and ensure that employees follow established standards for safe working conditions.
11. Coordinate warehouse activities with delivery and other operational departments, ensuring that orders are properly prepared and available according to established schedules.
12. Prepare and maintain work schedules, job lists, inventory-related information and other operational reports required for the efficient coordination of daily activities.
13. Provide feedback regarding employee performance and operational issues to management and recommend appropriate measures where necessary.
14. Supervise and coordinate helpers, labourers and other workers involved in the preparation, handling, repair and assembly of furniture, wooden products and related materials.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The employee is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and supervision of warehouse and carpentry-related workers.
The position includes assigning daily tasks, organizing workflow, monitoring completion of scheduled work, providing guidance and feedback to employees, assisting with training, and communicating operational or performance-related matters to management.
Final personnel decisions, including hiring and termination, remain with company management.
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience in carpentry, cabinetmaking, furniture repair, furniture assembly, construction or a closely related trade.
* Previous supervisory or team-coordination experience.
* Ability to read and understand work orders, schedules and material requirements.
* Ability to organize multiple jobs and prioritize tasks according to operational deadlines.
* Practical knowledge of carpentry-related repair, construction and assembly procedures.
* Ability to safely use and work around common carpentry and workshop equipment.
* Ability to communicate effectively with employees and management.
* Ability to identify operational problems and implement practical solutions.
* Ability to work independently while coordinating the activities of other employees.
Working Conditions
The position is performed primarily in a warehouse/workshop environment and may involve standing, lifting, moving and handling furniture, wooden materials, tools and other workplace equipment.
The employee may be required to perform hands-on carpentry, repair, assembly and preparation work in addition to supervisory and coordination responsibilities when operationally necessary.

Work location: Vancouver, British Columbia
Pay: $38.50 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
