We are now seeking one qualified individual to join our team as Pub Manager in Arthur's Pub located at the Best Western Plus Cobourg Inn & Convention Centre in Cobourg, ON.

The Pub Manager reports directly to the GM/Owner and works in cooperation with all other department managers.

Remuneration is salaried and will depend on experience

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Provide management of all aspects of effective Pub operations
- Effective use and daily management of POS and operational systems.
- Responsible for maintaining product inventory and ordering of all beverages
- Positive & effective guest interaction ensuring guest service is your main focus while monitoring and enforcing standards for individual staff performance
- Provide positive, effective leadership, direction, coaching and feedback for all team members
- Responsible for staff scheduling & training and ongoing development of team members
- Responsible for recruiting, interviewing and hiring talented team members to ensure proper staffing levels
- Provide assistance & support when needed with all service and restaurant duties

Qualifications:

- Preferred 2+ years experience managing foodservice or restaurant operations; including full-bar operations
- Private, franchise or branded casual restaurant management experience highly desirable
- Silverware POS experience an asset
- Great organizational skills and the ability to maintain service levels and to competently see projects through to completion
- Ability to effectively influence through knowledge, relationship management, and trust
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

The Best Western Plus Cobourg Inn & Convention Centre is Northumberland's only full service location featuring

~ 11,830 square feet of meeting and banquet space in 13 rooms for functions up to ~ 400 people for weddings, conventions, regular Dinner Theatre productions, Christmas parties, New Year's, etc.
~ Arthur's Pub with 166 seats & seasonal outdoor patio
~ Indoor swimming pool, whirlpool and exercise room

Requirements:

- Professional positive attitude and appearance, interpersonal,



teaching and motivational skills and ability to multi-task required at all times
- Must have Smart Serve certification
- Non-smoking/vaping environment for all staff while on property
- Excellent customer service, communication and written skills required (English)
- Cash & payment handling - must be bondable. (No criminal record) Police check will be conducted and paid for by employer
- Conditions of hire must be agreed to prior to consideration
- Flexible schedule of days, evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, walk, carry, climb stairs, stand for long periods
- Must be legal to work in Canada
