The Education Academy (T.E.A.) is a Canadian not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to providing high-quality French language education and culturally enriching learning opportunities.

T.E.A. is an authorized DELF/DALF Examination Centre and offers French language programs for learners of different ages and proficiency levels, including specialized preparation for French proficiency examinations.

Position Overview

T.E.A. is seeking experienced and motivated part-time TCF/TEF French Instructors to provide online French language and exam-preparation instruction.

The ideal candidate has experience teaching TCF Canada and/or TEF Canada preparation courses and is familiar with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the language proficiency requirements commonly associated with Canadian immigration pathways.

Main Responsibilities

- Deliver online TCF and/or TEF preparation classes to adult learners
- Assess students' French proficiency and identify individual learning needs
- Develop structured lesson plans based on students' target proficiency levels and exam timelines
- Prepare students for TCF/TEF listening, reading, speaking, and writing components
- Provide targeted strategies and practice for TCF/TEF exam tasks and formats
- Use CEFR levels and assessment criteria to guide instruction and student evaluation
- Provide regular assignments, practice exercises, and mock examinations
- Correct and provide detailed feedback on students' written and oral work
- Track students' progress and identify areas requiring additional support
- Help students improve accuracy, fluency, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and exam performance
- Participate in occasional teacher training, professional development, and academic meetings

Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Degree or specialization in French,



French as a Second/Foreign Language (FSL/FLE), Education, Linguistics, or a related field preferred

Language

- Advanced/native-level French proficiency
- English proficiency sufficient to communicate effectively with students and the academic team
- Mandarin proficiency is an asset

Experience

- Minimum 3 years of French teaching or tutoring experience
- Previous TCF and/or TEF preparation experience strongly preferred
- Experience teaching adult learners is an asset
- Online teaching experience is preferred

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with one or more of the following will be given solid consideration:

- Demonstrated experience preparing students for TCF Canada or TEF Canada
- Strong understanding of CEFR levels, particularly B1, B2, and C1
- Familiarity with TCF/TEF speaking and writing assessment expectations
- Experience helping students work toward Canadian immigration-related French language goals
- Experience conducting student assessments and developing individualized study plans
- TCF/TEF/DELF/DALF examiner-corrector certification or experience is an asset

- Deliver engaging and structured online French instruction
- Explain complex grammar and language concepts clearly
- Identify students' weaknesses and provide targeted improvement strategies
- Provide constructive and detailed feedback
- Manage small-group learning effectively
- Use online teaching platforms and digital learning resources
- Work independently while collaborating with T.E.A.'s academic team

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4.0 – 12.0 per week
