Are you a relationship-builder, creative fundraiser, and community champion who loves turning ideas into action?

Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario is looking for a Fundraising Specialist to help grow fundraising and increase awareness of our mission across the Heartland Region.

Reporting to the Director of Community Impact & Engagement, this role is an important member of the Community Impact & Engagement Team and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and growing fundraising initiatives that generate revenue and strengthen support for Habitat Heartland's mission. This role leads annual giving campaigns, monthly giving programs, grant writing, sponsorship development, fundraising events, donor stewardship, and community-based fundraising activities.

The ideal candidate is a proactive fundraiser who enjoys building relationships and connecting people to a meaningful cause. Success in this role comes from developing trust with donors, sponsors, businesses, volunteers, and community partners while delivering measurable fundraising results.

- Location: London, Ontario with regional travel (Stratford, Woodstock, St. Thomas, Brantford)
- Contract: Permanent, Full Time

The Fundraising Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and growing fundraising initiatives that generate revenue and strengthen support for Habitat Heartland's mission.

What success looks like (12-18 months)

- Grow revenue through annual giving, monthly giving, sponsorships, grants, events, and lottery fundraising.
- Increase donor acquisition, retention, and engagement.
- Secure current corporate sponsors and community fundraising partners.
- Successfully execute the organization's annual fundraising event.
- Submit competitive grant proposals and secure recent funding opportunities.
- Build strong relationships that strengthen Habitat Heartland's visibility and support throughout the communities we serve.

What you’ll do

Fundraising & Revenue Generation (80%)

- Plan, coordinate, and execute annual fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
- Grow and manage monthly giving and annual donor programs.
- Research, write, and submit grant applications, proposals, and funding reports.
- Develop, secure, and steward corporate sponsorships and Team Day partnerships.
- Lead the planning and execution of fundraising events, including sponsorship acquisition, logistics, volunteer coordination, and evaluation.
- Coordinate lottery fundraising initiatives and community-led fundraising activities.




- Steward donors and sponsors through recognition, reporting, and ongoing relationship management.
- Maintain accurate donor records and fundraising data within CRM systems.
- Monitor fundraising performance and prepare reports for leadership.

Community Partnerships & Communications (20%)

- Build and maintain relationships with donors, businesses, service clubs, community organizations, volunteers, and sponsors.
- Represent Habitat Heartland at community events, networking opportunities, and partnership meetings.
- Gather stories, testimonials, photos, and impact information that support fundraising and donor communications.
- Collaborate with staff to promote fundraising initiatives and demonstrate community impact.

About You:

- Education & Experience: Post-secondary education in Fundraising, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Non-Profit Management, or a related field, combined with a minimum 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, sponsorship development, donor relations, nonprofit administration, or a related field.
- Fundraising Experience: You have experience supporting or coordinating fundraising campaigns, events, sponsorships, donor engagement, community partnerships, or similar initiatives.
- Strong Communicator: You're a confident writer and storyteller who can translate ideas and impact into communications that inspire people to get involved.
- Relationship Builder: You enjoy meeting people, building trust, developing partnerships, and creating opportunities for others to support a shared mission.
- Organized & Accountable: You can manage multiple initiatives, deadlines, relationships, and details while maintaining strong follow-through.
- Creative & Results-Oriented: You bring ideas forward, look for new opportunities, and are motivated by achieving measurable results.
- Collaborative: You enjoy being part of a team, share ideas openly, support colleagues, and recognize that the best results often come from working together.
- Coachability: You are comfortable receiving feedback and direction while taking ownership and accountability for your work.
- Technology: You're comfortable with Microsoft Office, social media and digital communications tools, and donor database/CRM systems. Experience with Raiser’s Edge is considered an asset.
- Additional Assets: Experience with grant writing, sponsorship development, donor stewardship, event fundraising, or lottery fundraising would be an advantage.
- Mobility & Flexibility: You have a valid driver's licence, are willing to travel throughout the Heartland service region,



and can occasionally work evenings or weekends for events and community activities.
