We are recruiting an enthusiastic and dependable Medical Office Assistant / Clinical Assistant to join our North Bay team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with patients, thrives in a busy clinical environment and wants to become an important part of a growing medical practice.

The Role

This is a hands-on position combining medical office administration with clinical support.

You will work closely with our physicians and other clinic staff to help patients move smoothly through their visit—from registration and preparation to physician assessment and follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Office / Administrative Duties

* Welcome and register patients in a professional and friendly manner

* Answer telephone calls and respond to patient enquiries

* Schedule, confirm and manage appointments

* Maintain accurate patient demographics and electronic medical records

* Scan, upload and appropriately file medical documents

* Process incoming and outgoing referrals, reports and correspondence

* Assist physicians with administrative tasks and follow-up

* Manage the waiting room and help maintain efficient patient flow

* Support OHIP billing and other clinic administrative processes

* Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times

Clinical Assistant Duties

* Prepare examination rooms and patients for physician assessment





* Obtain and document basic measurements such as height, weight, temperature and blood pressure where trained and appropriate

* Assist with room turnover, cleaning and stocking of clinical supplies

* Prepare equipment and supplies for minor procedures

* Assist physicians during appropriate office procedures within the employee’s training and permitted scope

* Support specimen handling and other clinical workflows where appropriately trained

* Identify urgent patient concerns and promptly bring them to the attention of the physician or appropriate regulated healthcare professional

* Follow clinic infection prevention and control procedures

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate is warm with patients, organized, reliable and comfortable working at pace.

You should be able to remain calm when the clinic is busy, communicate clearly with patients and colleagues, and recognize that excellent patient care begins before the patient enters the physician’s room.

Preferred Qualifications

* Medical Office Administration, Medical Assistant, Clinical Assistant or related healthcare training is preferred

* Previous experience in a family medicine, walk-in clinic or other healthcare environment is an asset

* Experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is an asset

* Good computer and typing skills

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills





* Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

* Understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy requirements

* Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team

* CPR/First Aid certification is an asset

* Ability to work some evenings and/or weekends is an asset
