Northland Building Supplies Ltd. is seeking a single, dependable individual to fill the combined role of Lumber Yard Worker & Delivery Driver. This is a dual-responsibility position requiring an experienced professional who can successfully balance hands-on yard duties, including forklift operation and lumber packages handling—with safe, local residential deliveries. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, highly organized, and fully capable of managing both yard work and driving duties independently in a fast-paced environment. This position offers year-round, steady hours; during periods of extreme cold or severe weather, duties will shift indoors to our roof manufacturing truss plant.

Core Responsibilities

- Operate forklifts to move lumber, trusses, and building materials safely within the yard.
- Put custom customer lumber orders together accurately according to pick lists.
- Build and bundle standard lumber packages securely for transport or storage.
- Perform residential job site deliveries directly to customers using company vehicles.
- Assist seasonally with Maisie's Magical Christmas House & Halloween Displays: When time allows or during slower days, handle occasional delivery, pickup, assembly, and setup of holiday decorations to remain fully utilized.
- Maintain a clean and smoke-free company vehicle environment. Smoking and vaping are strictly always prohibited inside all delivery trucks.




- Transition to indoor production work at our roof manufacturing plant during severe weather or extremely cold to ensure steady, guaranteed work hours.
- Load and unload delivery trucks using proper handling techniques to prevent material damage.
- Maintain accurate records in the inventory/management system to track material movement.
- Keep the yard clean, organized, and accessible always.
- Conduct routine equipment and vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Minimum 1 year of experience in a lumber yard or similar material handling role (preferred).
- Valid forklift certification (required).
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license held for a minimum of 3 consecutive years (required for commercial fleet insurance).
- Insurable driving record.
- Note: A driver's abstract must be provided. Minor past infractions are acceptable subject to insurance provider approval, but candidates with excessive active tickets or major violations cannot be covered.
- Strict adherence to the company's smoking and vaping policy:
- Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited during active work hours and inside all fleet vehicles.
- Smoking and vaping are permitted only during scheduled lunch and coffee breaks,



and only within designated smoking areas on company property.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the shift, assist with decorative assemblies, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Adaptability to transition seamlessly between outdoor yard work, residential driving, holiday display handling, and indoor manufacturing plant environments.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for order building.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ukrainian language skills are an asset.

Employment Details

- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (Single position covering yard, driving, plant, and seasonal display support)
- Hours: 40 hours per week (Steady year-round hours guaranteed)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour day shifts
- Wage: Starting from $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
