Responsibilities
- Clear snow and ice from designated outdoor areas using shovels, snow blowers, and other hand or power tools
- Apply salt or de-icing materials to prevent ice buildup and ensure safety
- Maintain pathways, entrances, and parking lots by removing snow promptly and efficiently
- Operate basic mechanical equipment such as snow blowers and salt spreaders with proper care and safety protocols
- Conduct routine inspections of work sites to identify hazards or areas needing additional attention
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks related to outdoor landscaping or equipment as needed
- Follow safety guidelines diligently to prevent slips, trips, falls, or equipment accidents during snow removal activities
Experience
- Prior experience in snow removal or outdoor maintenance is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools such as shovels, brooms, and rakes
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating small power tools like snow blowers or salt spreaders is advantageous
- Experience in landscaping, gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance can be beneficial for understanding outdoor environments
