Alex Farm Products on Beach is looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Part-Time Sales Associate / Cheesemonger to join our team.

We are a specialty cheese shop offering a wide selection of cheeses, charcuterie, and gourmet products from Canada and around the world. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with food, helping customers, and learning about specialty products.

Responsibilities

- Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service
- Help customers select cheeses based on their tastes, needs, and budget
- Cut, weigh, wrap, label, and package cheeses
- Prepare cheese, charcuterie, and other specialty food products for sale
- Restock products and keep displays organized and attractive
- Receive deliveries and rotate products using proper food-handling procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of the cheese counter, equipment, and store
- Operate the POS system and process customer transactions
- Learn about different cheeses, producers, regions, and food pairings
- Assist with cheese boards, gift baskets, sandwiches, and other store preparations when needed

Requirements

- Minimum 1 years of experience in food service, specialty food, grocery, retail, hospitality, or a related industry




- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable working with food and following food-safety procedures
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
- Comfortable using knives, cheese wires, slicers, scales, and other food-preparation equipment
- Able to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced setting
- Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs
- Weekend and holiday availability is required
- Interest in cheese, food, cooking, or specialty products is strongly preferred
- Previous cheese or deli experience is an asset, but not required
- Food Handler Certificate is required

Job Type: Part-Time
