The Students’ Association of Mount Royal University (SAMRU) is a medium-sized, student-focused, charitable organization with a mission to represent and serve students. SAMRU is currently seeking a motivated and flexible individual to support the operation of our campus food court.

Position Details

Status: Part time

Wage: $15.50/hour

Term: September 2026 - June 30, 2027
No shifts scheduled during statutory holidays or official SAMRU/MRU campus closures (including the Winter Holiday Break).

Operating Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Hours vary based on SAMRU and Mount Royal University’s academic semester schedules. The successful candidate will work a flexible rotating schedule during food court operating hours:

- Fall & Winter Semesters (September - April): Approximately 15-25 hours per week during peak campus operational periods.
- Spring Term (May - June): Reduced schedule of approximately 10-15 hours per week matching scaled-back campus class volume.

Key Responsibilities

The Wyckham House food court offers the MRU campus a variety of quick-serve dining options and is a frequent gathering space for students.



The Food Court Attendant is responsible for ensuring that an orderly, inviting, and hygienic space is available for students through cleaning and bussing tables, supporting food court service, and facilitating our reusable dish and cutlery program.

Who We’re Looking For

- A great attitude and excellent work ethic;
- High level of attention to detail;
- Experience in the customer service industry;
- Excellent oral communication skills;
- Proven time-management and multi-tasking skills;
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts during food court operating hours across academic semesters;
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is an asset.
