Position: Retail Tactical Fusion Security Specialist

Status: Full-Time & Part-Time (FULL Days)

Location: Toronto, ON (Some Travel is required and flexibility needed to travel to differenct site locations as needed or required by the company)

Schedule: Open and Flexible Availability to work Full Day Shifts - Can be scheduled anytime between 0800 - 22:00 hrs

Wage Rate: --> Competitive Pay From $22.00 - $24.00 / Hr

**This is a Hands-On Position - meaning Use of Force and arrest Experience is required.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

- Must know Section 494 Canadian Criminal Code - Citizens Powers of Arrest
- Must know (TPA) Tresspass to Property Act - When can a Security Guard Tresspass someone from public or private property.
- Must know 5-Steps of LPO (S.C.O.P.E) = Selection, Concealment, Continuity, Pass Points of Sale, Exit
- Must know steps of Arrest (RTC/ YTC)
- Must have Retail experience and knoweldge - Red Flag Behaviours, Hot ZONES, Methods of Concealment, Hands-On V.S. Hands-Off Techniques,
- Must have knowledge of types of shoplifters - ORC/ Habitual Offenders/ Opportunists
- Must have flexible availability
- Must be able to stand and walk and patrol for extended periods
- Must be confident and able to handle stressful situations and work under pressure and de-escalate conflicts and handle emergency situations

Role Summary

As a Tactical Guard you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of a company's employees, visitors, and associated property. You will be tasked with patrolling a designated area, responding to safety and security threats, and establishing a security presence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Maintaining secure and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel
- Patrol designated areas in accordance with outlined security procedures
- Complete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents
- Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly
- Ability to stand or foot patrol for 8-12 hours
- Ability to escort trespassers away from client premises
- Defuse potentially volatile situations and intervene when necessary
- Respond to emergencies and incidents within designated areas promptly and according to policy




- Escalate emergency situations to law enforcement as needed
- Providing great customer service to clients, tenants, and patrons
- Identify, monitor and approach subjects who may have unpaid merchandise
- Document theft and other security violations
- Ability to respond well to emergency situations
- Ability to work without close supervision

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

- Valid Security License
- Experience with arrests and detaining shoplifters preferred
- Knowledge of all 5 steps to an arrest/detainment of a shoplifter is an asset
- Valid Driver's license and own vehicle is an asset
- Previous experience in security is an asset.
- Must be proficient in the English language, spoken, written, and via electronics
- Superior observational skills
- Willingness to attend meeting and trainings to improve skills
- Knowledgeable on safety processes and procedures
- Use of Force certification is an asset

Pay: $22.00-$23.00 per hour

Education:

- DCS / DEC (preferred)

Experience:

- Retail Tactical Security: 3 years (required)
- Arrest (Hand-On) : 3 years (required)
- Loss Prevention / Asset Protection : 1 year (required)

Language:

- Fluent Verbal and Written Communication in English (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Ontario Security Guard License (required)
- Emergency First Aid with CPR and AED Level C (WSIB Approved) (required)
- Valid Use of Force Certification (Hand-Cuffing) (required)
