Position Overview
We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Meat Packaging Associates to join our production team. This role involves handling, packaging, labeling, and preparing meat products while ensuring strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety standards, and workplace safety regulations. Candidates must be able to work in a refrigerated environment (around 4°C) and perform repetitive tasks while maintaining high attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

- Package, weigh, label, and seal meat products according to company and customer specifications.
- Maintain strict separation between raw and ready-to-eat (RTE) products to prevent cross-contamination.
- Operate packaging equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Inspect products for quality, consistency, and compliance with food safety standards.
- Follow supervisor instructions carefully and report any issues promptly.
- Wear appropriate clothing for cold environments (jackets, warm caps, gloves, PPE provided by company) while working in 4°C conditions.
- Wear safety shoes at all times in production areas (mandatory requirement).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production area.
- Assist with sanitation duties including cleaning equipment, workstations, and tools.
- Perform protected lifting and handling of products (up to 50 lbs, as required).

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) – Employee Guidelines1. Personal Hygiene

- Wash and sanitize hands before starting work, after breaks, and after using the washroom.
- Wear clean protective clothing (smock, apron, gloves, hairnet, beard net if applicable).
- No jewelry, watches, or loose items in production areas.
- Fingernails must be clean, short, and free from nail polish or false nails.




- Do not report to work if sick, injured, or with open wounds.

2. Food Safety & Handling

- Always wear approved gloves when handling meat.
- Keep raw and cooked products separate at all times.
- Maintain proper storage and temperature controls for meat products
- Report contamination issues immediately (foreign objects, spoiled meat, leakage).
- Use only sanitized equipment, knives, and tools.

3. Workplace Conduct

- No eating, drinking, smoking, or chewing gum in production areas.
- Personal items (phones, bags, pens) are not allowed in meat-handling zones.
- Follow proper entry procedures (hand wash, sanitizing, foot baths where applicable).
- Obey supervisors’ instructions at all times and comply with company policies.

4. Sanitation & Equipment Use

- Clean and sanitize knives, cutting boards, machines, and work areas regularly.
- Report broken, dirty, or unsafe equipment immediately.
- Never use unsanitized tools or equipment on food products.

5. Safety & Compliance

- Follow safe lifting and handling procedures (up to 50 lbs).
- Wear proper PPE at all times (cut-resistant gloves, safety shoes, protective smock, jackets for cold).
- Report accidents, injuries, or unsafe practices right away.
- Cooperate during inspections and audits.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Previous experience in food or meat packaging is an asset, but training will be provided.
- Ability to work in cold environments (4°C) for extended periods.
- Physically capable of repetitive tasks and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow food safety guidelines.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
- Must wear and maintain CSA-approved safety shoes
