Role Summary

Valley Mechanical Inc. is a well-established industrial, commercial, and process mechanical contracting firm specializing in mechanical installations, piping systems, and custom mechanical solutions across Ontario. With a solid reputation for quality workmanship, safety, and reliability, Valley Mechanical supports clients throughout the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Estimator / Project Manager to oversee projects from initial estimation through successful execution and closeout. This role combines estimating, coordination, budgeting, and field support responsibilities while working closely with customers, field personnel, vendors, and management to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Project Estimating & Planning

- Review and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Prepare accurate project estimates including labour, materials, subcontractors, and equipment costs.
- Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
- Assist with project scheduling, planning, and manpower forecasting.

Project Coordination & Execution

- Communicate project scope, schedules, and expectations with foremen and journeypersons.
- Provide ongoing support to field teams by assisting with troubleshooting and resolving job-site issues.
- Monitor job costs, productivity, and progress to ensure projects remain within approved budgets.
- Coordinate procurement of materials, tools, and equipment required for project execution.
- Track project changes and assist with preparation of change orders and cost adjustments.




- Attend site meetings with clients, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.

Client & Internal Communication

- Meet with customers to review project requirements and provide technical recommendations.
- Maintain regular communication with the General Manager regarding project status, risks, and financial performance.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and correspondence.
- Foster strong working relationships between office staff, field personnel, vendors, and clients.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

- Ensure all work complies with company safety policies, industry regulations, and site-specific requirements.
- Support and promote a strong safety-first culture.
- Monitor workmanship quality and ensure projects meet contractual and company standards.

What You Bring

Experience & Technical Knowledge

- 4 – 7 years of experience in mechanical estimating, construction project management, or mechanical contracting.
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical and construction drawings.
- Working knowledge of piping systems, mechanical installations, or industrial construction is considered an asset.
- Understanding construction project lifecycle and cost controls.

Project Management & Leadership Skills

- Strong troubleshooting and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, planning,



and prioritization skills.
- Ability to support and collaborate effectively with field personnel.

Professional Skills & Technical Tools

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with estimating software, project tracking systems, or construction documentation tools considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

Working Conditions & Logistics

- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel to project sites throughout the GTA and surrounding areas.
- Ability to work in industrial and construction environments as required.
