Home Care Worker / Caregiver (Dementia Care)

Location: Headingley, MB
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, Day Shifts

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Home Care Worker to provide one-on-one support for an individual living with dementia in their home in Headingley, Manitoba. This role involves assisting with personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation to appointments and activities, companionship, and daily living support while promoting the individual's comfort, dignity, and quality of life.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience caring for individuals with dementia, a patient and caring nature, and a commitment to providing exceptional care in a home setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide personal care assistance, including:
- Bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Toileting and hygiene support
- Feeding assistance when required
- Mobility and daily living support
- Prepare meals, snacks, and beverages.
- Accompany and transport the individual to:
- Medical appointments
- Shopping trips
- Recreational activities
- Community outings and personal errands
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Encourage participation in daily activities and routines.
- Monitor the individual's well-being and communicate concerns to family members when necessary.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and supportive home environment.
- Support routines and activities that promote independence and quality of life.

Qualifications





- Previous experience caring for individuals with dementia is required.
- Experience as a caregiver, home care worker, health care aide, personal support worker, or in a similar role.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel reliably to Headingley, MB.
- Criminal Record Check (required).
- First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Physically capable of assisting with personal care and daily living activities.
