Didsbury is a town of approximately 5,000 located 80
kilometres north of Calgary, approximately half-way
between Calgary and Red Deer and an hour’s drive to the
Rockies. Didsbury offers small community living with big city
amenities just a short drive away.

Didsbury is a family-focused community with four schools, a
hospital, public library, and robust recreational facilities,
including a two-surface arena, five-lane swimming pool,
four-sheet curling rink, ball diamonds, skate park and
numerous playgrounds and pathways. The top industries in
the community include agriculture, construction, real estate,
professional services, and transportation.

The Town of Didsbury is currently accepting applications for

a permanent, part-time lifeguard. Reporting to the Head

Lifeguard, you will be responsible for lifeguarding facility

programs, instructing facility lesson programs, and

performing general facility maintenance and cleaning while

promoting a fun, safe and enjoyable environment for all

patrons.

The ideal candidate for this position will exhibit sharp

concentration skills to ensure the safety of patrons, have

familiarity with water safety through experience in the

aquatic environment, and a willingness to enforce rules and





safety protocols.

Hours: Up to 20 hours/week based on the needs of the

department

COMPETITION 2026-15
Permanent, Part-Time Lifeguard

WHAT THE TOWN OF DIDSBURY IS LOOKING
FOR IN A CANDIDATE:

REQUIRED:
• Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard (NL) Certification

- Swim for Life Instructor Certification

- One year Experience in an aquatic setting

- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

- Standard First Aid with CPR C (Current)

- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends

- Clean Criminal Record Check

DESIRED:
• Work Hazard Management Identification System

(WHMIS) certification
