Shel-Bar Electronic Industries Ltd. is seeking an experienced Journeyperson Electrician or motivated Registered 4th-Year Electrical Apprentice to join our growing team.

Shel-Bar provides commercial electrical services while delivering integrated security and technology solutions across Canada. Our projects include commercial buildings, municipalities, utilities, water and wastewater facilities, industrial operations, critical infrastructure, and large multi-site installations.

We are looking for a qualified who takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates clearly, pays close attention to detail, and represents both themselves and Shel-Bar professionally.

This is not an entry-level position. Applicants must have relevant commercial electrical experience.

Position Summary

The successful candidate will perform commercial electrical installation, service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning while supporting integrated security and technology projects.

This position includes cross-training in integrated security and low-voltage systems, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, structured cabling, fibre optics, network infrastructure, and related technologies.

Previous security installation or fire-alarm experience is considered an asset but is not required.

Approximately 40% travel within Canada is expected. Travel may include scheduled rotations, overnight assignments, and transportation by vehicle or commercial air.

Key Responsibilities

- Install commercial electrical systems.
- Install conduit, cable tray, wiring, devices, panels, and associated electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams, and construction documents.
- Install, test, troubleshoot, repair, and commission electrical equipment and systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and electrical service work.
- Support the installation of integrated security and low-voltage systems.
- Participate in cross-training for access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, structured cabling, fibre optics, networking, and related technologies.
- Complete accurate daily journals, service reports, deficiency reports, commissioning documentation, and other required project records.
- Coordinate work with Project Managers, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional installations.
- Follow Shel-Bar’s Health and Safety requirements and all client-specific safety procedures.
- Travel to project sites throughout Canada as required.

Required Qualifications

- Journeyperson Electrician or Registered 4th-Year Electrical Apprentice.
- Relevant commercial electrical experience.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings,



specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills sufficient to understand safety and technical information, communicate professionally, and produce accurate project records.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Professional customer-service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout Canada approximately 40% of the time.
- Ability to travel by commercial air within Canada.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
- Driver’s abstract acceptable to Shel-Bar’s insurer and applicable clients.
- Ability to successfully complete criminal record and client-required security screening.
- Ability to satisfy additional client-specific site-access requirements, which may include a vulnerable sector check where the position and work environment qualify.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
