Live-In Personal Support Worker

Divine Care and Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Personal Support Worker to provide live-in care for a senior client in Markham, Ontario.

This is a calm and generally relaxed position in a quiet home. The client sleeps for significant periods during the day and usually goes to bed between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Although there is considerable downtime, the caregiver must remain attentive, responsible, and available when assistance is needed.

Schedule

Monday to Friday
Weekends off
Daytime care is generally required between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Overnight presence and on-call support are required.

Responsibilities

- Assist with personal care, dressing, bathing, toileting, and mobility
- Prepare and assist with straightforward meals
- Provide companionship and safety supervision
- Follow the client’s written care plan
- Observe and report changes in the client’s condition
- Maintain clear communication with the family and Divine Care and Health




- Remain in the home overnight and respond when assistance is required
- Keep the caregiver’s room and shared areas clean and tidy

Accommodation

- Clean, private bedroom provided
- Access to the kitchen to prepare personal meals
- Access to household groceries as agreed
- Calm, clean, and comfortable home environment
- Significant personal downtime when the client is resting

Compensation

The intended base compensation is $2,500 per month. Final compensation will be documented and adjusted as required to comply with Ontario employment standards and the hours actually worked.

Requirements

- Personal Support Worker certification or relevant caregiving experience
- Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Reliable,

Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour
