Overview

We are seeking a seasonal farm labourer to assist with the upcoming 2027 farming season - March 2027 to September 2027. This position is seasonal and for the stated term. Daytime work, with evening and weekend work required. Hours will vary and overtime work will be required. Must have full availability.

Responsibilities

Assist with planting, harvesting, and crop maintenance activities to ensure optimal growth and yield.
Operate and maintain farm machinery, power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
Perform irrigation tasks such as setting up, adjusting, and troubleshooting irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution.
Conduct routine maintenance on farm equipment and infrastructure to prevent breakdowns and extend operational lifespan.
Handle heavy lifting of supplies, equipment, or harvested crops in accordance with safety guidelines.
Support horticultural activities including planting, pruning, watering, and pest control to promote healthy plant development.
Follow safety protocols during all tasks and report any issues or equipment malfunctions promptly.

Perform general maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure the farm and greenhouses are clean and well maintained.

Skills





Experience with horticulture practices and general farm maintenance is preferred.
Ability to operate heavy equipment such as tractors is a plus.
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for repairs or assembly tasks.
Basic math skills for measuring, calculating quantities, or adjusting settings on equipment.
Physical stamina for heavy lifting and extended periods of outdoor work in various weather conditions.
Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and farm work is essential for a secure work environment.

Strong attention to detail skills.

Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

Communicate effectively.

Must be able to follow directions effectively and have positive work ethics.

Walking and standing for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
