Qualifications – Hospice Healthcare Facility

- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Hospice experience preferred
- Palliative Care Certificate preferred
- GPA (Gentle Persuasive Approaches) Certificate preferred
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centred care in a hospice environment
- Job Type: Independent Contractor – Casual / Part time
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: Ongoing
- Pay Rate: $60/hr
- Hours: Casual / Part-Time

Responsibilities:
Registered Nurses are required to adhere to the scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Providing compassionate nursing care to patients receiving palliative and end-of-life care
- Assessing patient needs and monitoring changes in condition
- Administering medications and treatments in accordance with care plans
- Supporting patients and families through end-of-life care
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Maintaining accurate and timely patient documentation

Note: Duties may vary slightly based on facility and shift,



with specific guidance provided during site orientation.

Experience:

- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (required)
- Previous hospice or palliative care experience is preferred
- Familiarity with palliative and end-of-life care practices
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong clinical judgment and adaptability

Skills:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail for accurate documentation and medication administration
- Compassion and empathy when supporting patients and families
- Ability to remain calm and professional in sensitive situations
