Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Heavy Equipment Technician to oversee the maintenance, repair, and reliability of a diverse fleet of heavy off-highway and material-handling equipment in Saanichton, BC.

This is a full time, permanent opportunity for a journeyperson technician who enjoys hands-on mechanical work and providing technical leadership to a team.

The Opportunity

- $48/hour+, based on experience
- Tuesday–Saturday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
- Additional premiums available for Class 1 or Class 3 licences
- Company service truck, laptop, cell phone, and coveralls provided
- Fully equipped shop
- Combination of shop and field service work throughout South Vancouver Island

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose, repair, and maintain loaders, excavators, telehandlers, and other heavy equipment.
- Lead preventative maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime.
- Coordinate repairs, parts, and outside service providers.
- Track maintenance history and equipment performance.
- Mentor and support technicians and apprentices.
- Help ensure equipment meets safety and regulatory requirements.




- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and fleet reliability.

Qualifications

- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
- Experience maintaining off-highway, mobile, and/or stationary heavy equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence; Class 3 is an asset.
- Experience with fleet or work-order management software; Fleetio is an asset.
- Own hand and power tools appropriate for the trade.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
