The Account Lead Pharmaceutical Strategies is responsible for owning and managing a portfolio of assigned pharmaceutical clients as the primary relationship lead and trusted advisor. This role leads strategic client engagement, supports revenue retention and growth, oversees program performance, and ensures client needs are represented across internal teams. The ideal candidate brings strong program management expertise and pharmaceutical reimbursement knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Oversight & Strategic Guidance
- Provide strategic oversight of assigned programs, identifying opportunities for optimization related to formulary shifts, pricing strategy, and coverage design.
- Maintain end-to-end accountability for program integrity, ensuring program structures are accurate and current.
- Anticipate client needs and proactively recommend program enhancements, efficiencies, and value-added services.
- Monitor changes in the pharmaceutical industry landscape, including market access trends, reimbursement developments, competitive activity, and policy shifts; evaluate client impact and proactively engage clients with relevant insights and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance requirements, including AE training, are completed and reflected in program execution.
· Client Deliverables, Launches & Cross-Functional Execution
- Partner with Implementation Specialists to support successful program launches and ensure a smooth transition to ongoing account ownership.
- Manage and oversee the delivery of client requests, including pricing analyses, reporting, and ad-hoc insights,
ensuring alignment with objectives and timelines.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, operations, finance, and implementation teams to align internal execution with client strategy and expectations.
- Set and manage explicit client expectations related to scope, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, risks, and decision points, ensuring alignment between client priorities and internal delivery capabilities.
- Lead and participate in client meetings, business reviews, and planning discussions; prepare agendas, materials, follow-ups, and action plans to support effective client engagement.
- Travel to client meetings, conferences, or business events as required to support relationship management, program execution, and strategic account priorities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including client opportunities, and program updates.
· Revenue Growth, Retention & Continuous Improvement
- Support revenue growth and retention by identifying and acting on opportunities for ad-hoc services, program expansion, and value-added initiatives.
- Perform other duties aligned to client portfolio management and business priorities.
Key Competencies & Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in account management, pharmaceutical strategy, reimbursement, patient support programs, market access, or a related healthcare environment.
- Post-secondary education in business, health sciences, pharmacy, life sciences, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to anticipate client needs, identify risks or opportunities early, and take ownership of follow-through.
- Robust client relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at multiple stakeholder levels.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead strategic and operational discussions confidently.
- Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape, including PSP programs, pharmacy workflows, and reimbursement models is an asset
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and translate insights into recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and priorities while maintaining high attention to detail and service quality.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
