Robert Half is partnering with a client to hire an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and lead payroll operations for a growing organization. This position is ideal for a payroll professional with strong compliance knowledge, leadership experience, and a track record of ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities

Manage full payroll cycle
Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including wages, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and garnishments
Maintain compliance with federal, provincial, and local payroll tax laws and reporting requirements
Supervise payroll staff and provide coaching, training, and performance support
Review and reconcile payroll reports, general ledger entries, and tax filings
Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and other internal teams to support employee data accuracy and payroll changes
Lead payroll audits and support year-end activities
Evaluate payroll procedures and recommend improvements to strengthen efficiency and controls
Assist with payroll system updates, implementations, and process documentation
Respond to employee and management inquiries related to payroll matters

Previous experience as a Payroll Manager or similar role
Robust knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and reporting requirements
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
High level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
