RTM is looking for motivated and skilled carpenters with experience in restoration, renovation, and general construction work. Successful candidates will work alongside RTM’s site leadership team and specialized trades on a nationally significant heritage restoration project.

This role will involve a wide variety of carpentry and construction tasks related to structural repairs, temporary protection, heavy timber work, interior/exterior restoration, and general site support.

Responsibilities

- General carpentry and restoration work
- Install temporary hoarding, protection, and access systems
- Assist with structural and heavy timber repairs
- Install blocking, framing, and wood backing
- Assist with heritage window and door removals/installations
- Scaffold and temporary work assistance
- Site cleanup and material handling
- Coordinate with subcontractors and RTM supervision
- Follow all site safety procedures and Parks Canada requirements
- Maintain organized and professional work areas

Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years carpentry or construction experience
- Experience with commercial, institutional,



or restoration projects preferred
- Ability to work safely at heights
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license considered an asset

Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following is considered an asset:

- Heritage restoration
- Heavy timber / glulam work
- Roofing and sheet metal support
- Scaffold erection assistance
- Window and door restoration
- Masonry restoration support work
