Executive Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Accounting Manager to lead accounting and financial reporting operations within a dynamic financial services organization. This executive-level position will provide leadership across financial reporting, accounting controls, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and financial operations while partnering closely with senior executives to support organizational strategy and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and oversee the organization’s accounting and financial reporting functions.
- Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Review and approve financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
- Establish, maintain, and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Lead and develop accounting and finance professionals while establishing performance standards and objectives.
- Monitor financial performance, cash flow, operating expenses, and key financial metrics.
- Oversee regulatory, tax, audit, and financial reporting requirements applicable to the organization.
- Work closely with the CFO, CEO, senior management, auditors, and other executive stakeholders.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic business decisions.
- Identify financial risks and develop appropriate mitigation and control measures.
- Lead accounting-process improvements,



automation initiatives, and financial-system enhancements.
- Ensure accounting practices comply with applicable Canadian accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support corporate planning, forecasting, acquisitions, business expansion, and other strategic initiatives.
- Prepare executive-level financial presentations and reports for senior leadership.
- Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement across the finance function.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting and financial-management experience.
- Previous experience managing accounting or finance teams.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, IFRS, internal controls, audit, taxation, and financial analysis.
- Experience within banking, insurance, investment management, wealth management, fintech, or another financial-services setting is preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting-system experience.
- Strong strategic, analytical, leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated experience working with CFOs, CEOs, boards, auditors, and other senior stakeholders.
- Ability to manage confidential financial information and multiple high-priority initiatives in a remote environment.
