As a Bioinformatician at Hartwig Medical Foundation, you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing the platform that enables data-driven decision making and advanced molecular diagnostics. You will be part of a close-knit, multidisciplinary team of scientists, clinicians, and engineers, contributing directly to the advancement of cancer research and patient care.

What You Will Do

You will help drive the development of our platform,operateour diagnostics infrastructure, and support translational research:

Collaborate with a cross-functional team of scientists, clinicians, and engineers to design, develop, andmaintainthe platform. Write clean, efficient, and scalable code to implement new algorithms and analyses, and improve existing workflows.

Operate and support our molecular diagnostics and cancer support platform.Assistour clients in interpreting results andrespondto their issues and questions.

Integrate molecular analysis data and clinical data into the platform.Develop algorithms and data processing pipelines to extract meaningful insights from diverse datasets.

Support translational research initiatives and find ways to incorporate such research into the platform and products.

Stay up to date with Hartwig's tool suite of sequence analysis algorithms and the latest advancements in cancer research, bioinformatics, and software engineering. Proactively propose and explorenew technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the platform’s capabilities.

What You Bring





You are a driven bioinformatician with a robust scientific and technical foundation:

MSc or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Genomics, ora relateddiscipline. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

Strong programming experience in Python, R, or similar languages. Java or Kotlin experience isadvantageous.

Strong knowledge of genomics and molecular biology, preferably in the domain of cancer.

Familiarity with data processing and analysis techniques, including working with large datasets, relational databases, and data modeling.

Solid understanding of software development principles, including version control, agile methodologies, and best practices for writing maintainable and efficient code.

Experience with containerization and cloud platforms is beneficial.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to drive projects to completion independently.

Effective collaboration skills within cross-functional teams, and excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

A genuine interest in contributing to cancer research and patient care.
