About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Child Development Officer to join their team in Kimberley . This role is dedicated to supporting the healthy development of young children within a community-focused setting. You will be responsible for assessing developmental progress, providing guidance to parents and caregivers, and implementing programs designed to enhance early learning and well-being. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about child psychology and developmental milestones, possesses strong community engagement skills, and is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and families.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's developmental, social, emotional, and cognitive progress.
- Develop and implement evidence-based programs and activities to support child development.
- Provide counseling and support to parents and caregivers on child-rearing practices and challenges.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions for parents and community members on early childhood development topics.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments,



interventions, and client progress.
- Collaborate with local organizations and service providers to ensure comprehensive support for families.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in child development services or early childhood education.
- Strong understanding of child psychology, developmental theories, and assessment tools.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in program development and facilitation.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and build community relationships.
