About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Child Development Officer to join their team in Kimberley . This role is dedicated to supporting the healthy development of young children within a community-focused setting. You will be responsible for assessing developmental progress, providing guidance to parents and caregivers, and implementing programs designed to enhance early learning and well-being.

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about child psychology and developmental milestones, possesses strong community engagement skills, and is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and families.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's developmental, social, emotional, and cognitive progress.

Develop and implement evidence-based programs and activities to support child development.

Provide counseling and support to parents and caregivers on child-rearing practices and challenges.

Facilitate workshops and training sessions for parents and community members on early childhood development topics.

Maintain accurate records of assessments,



interventions, and client progress.

Collaborate with local organizations and service providers to ensure comprehensive support for families.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in child development services or early childhood education.

Strong understanding of child psychology, developmental theories, and assessment tools.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Experience in program development and facilitation.

Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and build community relationships.
