About the Opportunity

Sharp Study is an early-stage EdTech startup building the intelligence layer that education is missing. Content and delivery are solved — the market is drowning in AI tutors, adaptive apps, and learning-management systems. What no one owns is the layer underneath: a trustworthy, continuously updated understanding of what a learner actually knows and can do, served back to the people who act on it — tutors, learning centers, and parents.

We're not building another AI tutor. We're building the layer that makes every educator measurably more effective and every outcome provable. Think less "content library," more "the Stripe for learning evidence." We're looking for a Co-Founder & CTO to architect that from the ground up.

The Role

As Co-Founder & CTO, you'll own the technical vision and architecture of the company. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll write code, design systems, and make the critical early technology decisions that shape everything after — while building and leading the engineering team as we grow.

You'll work directly with the founding team to shape not just the product, but the company's direction, culture, and long-term strategy.

What You'll Do

- Define and execute the technical vision and roadmap for a learning-intelligence platform
- Architect scalable AI systems: a persistent learner model,



assessment and misconception detection, and the data layer that ties them together
- Lead hands-on development in the early stages while planning for team growth
- Make the foundational calls on infrastructure, models, tooling, and data privacy (FERPA / COPPA / PIPEDA from day one)
- Establish an engineering culture built on quality, iteration, honest measurement, and impact
- Represent the technical side of the business to investors, partners, and early customers

What We're Looking For

- Strong AI/ML engineering background with a track record of shipping real systems
- Full-stack capability to build rapid in an early-stage environment (we work across modern web/AI stacks)
- Prior senior technical leadership, startup, or founding-team experience (preferred)
- Comfort operating with high autonomy in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment
- Genuine interest in education and in AI that augments teachers rather than replacing them
- Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take equity-based compensation in exchange for real ownership and upside

Compensation This is a co-founder position, compensated through equity rather than salary. You'll be a true owner in the company's success.
