DATA CENTER ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN I (MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL)

Pay Rate: $20-25 /hour

Your hands-on knowledge of electricity, building mechanics, and control and automation systems will make a direct difference in how millions of customers worldwide use the cloud every day.

A Typical Day: No two days are the same. You’ll combine practical technical abilities with analytical thinking as you:

- Maintenance and servicing of electrical, mechanical, advanced security, HVAC, BMS/EPMS, and fire protection systems.
- Diagnose and resolve critical technical issues promptly.
- Schedule and accompany subcontractors during maintenance and service calls.
- Work closely with operations and infrastructure experts around the world.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to push performance and reliability standards even further.

Responsabilités principales

- Effectuer la maintenance préventive et corrective des systèmes électriques, mécaniques et de protection incendie.
- Réagir avec efficacité à tout incident susceptible d’affecter la disponibilité ou la performance des installations.
- Proposer et mettre en œuvre des solutions opérationnelles rentables et durables.
- Réaliser des inspections techniques détaillées pour assurer la performance ainsi que la santé et la sécurité des équipements.
- Collaborer avec des équipes mondiales pour garantir la fiabilité continue des centres de données.

- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and fire protection systems.




- Respond proactively to incidents that may affect facility availability or performance.
- Propose and implement cost-effective, sustainable operational improvements.
- Conduct detailed technical inspections to ensure equipment performance, health, and safety..
- Collaborate with global teams to maintain data center reliability standards.

Qualifications de base

- Compréhension des systèmes électriques (basse et haute tension) et mécaniques (refroidissement, ventilation, génératrices).
- Disponibilité pour participer à un horaire de garde pour les rôles en colocation ou horaires en rotation pour couverture 24/7/365.
- Capacité à soulever jusqu’à 49 lb et à travailler en hauteur en toute sécurité.
- Excellentes habiletés de communication en français et en anglais - bilingue

Basic Qualifications

- Understanding of electrical systems (low and high voltage) and mechanical systems (cooling, ventilation, generators).
- Availability to participate in an on-call schedule for co-location roles or rotating shifts for 24/7/365 coverage..
- Ability to lift up to 49 lbs and work safely at heights.
- Strong communication skills in English and French.
- Bilingualism French and English is required for this position

Preferred Qualifications

- Post-secondary education in electricity, electromechanics, or mechanics.
- Relevant experience in data center operations, industrial maintenance, or other mission-critical environments would be a strong asset.
- Knowledge of power distribution and industrial cooling systems.
- Proficiency with computer tools related to maintenance and analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced technical environment.
