Position Scope

NACG is looking for Excavator Operator's to work on a remote mining site in the Fort McMurray area. You must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else.

Site: Syncrude-Aurora

Schedule: 14x7 OR 10x4; 12 hour shifts; Days only, paid for 12.

Accommodations: Not provided

Transportation: Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts)

Overtime: Provided after 8 hours a day or 44 hours a week The successful candidate will be required to join the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

- Operate various sizes and models of excavators as required to complete assigned work
- Read stakes and be able to place a grade as needed
- Ensure compliance to all company, client and legislated safety policies, operating standards and procedures
- Using adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE
- Reviewing safe work plans/ hazard assessment with prior to job commencement and follow all requirements
- Complete equipment/ area walk-arounds, safety checks and field level risk assessments and ensure all equipment is running properly
- Report any necessary or anticipated repairs to the maintenance team or supervisors immediately
- Report all incidents, near misses or damage immediately.

Qualifications

What Makes You the ONE

- Minimum 3 years of experience operating excavator.
- Minimum 3 year experience in a mining and/or civil.
- Minimum 3 years underground piping/ ditching experience.
- Ability to cut and maintain grades and slopes
