Role Description The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is a full-time, in office role based in Abbotsford, BC. The mechanic will inspect, diagnose, and repair farm and heavy equipment, including tractors and related agricultural machinery. Daily tasks include performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, completing repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications, and conducting safety checks.

The role also involves maintaining accurate service records, coordinating with the Service Manager and parts staff. The mechanic will use diagnostic tools and shop equipment, follow safety protocols,



and contribute to keeping the service shop organized and efficient.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Vehicle Maintenance for agricultural and heavy machinery.
- Hands-on experience with Heavy Equipment and farm machinery, including tractors and related attachments.
- Proficiency in Equipment Repair and mechanical diagnostics, including hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Solid Troubleshooting abilities to identify root causes of mechanical issues and determine effective repair solutions.
- Previous experience as a heavy equipment or agricultural equipment mechanic, preferably in a dealership or repair shop setting.
- Relevant technical training or certification in mechanics, heavy equipment technology, or a related field is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, technical diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.
- Comfort working with tools, diagnostic equipment, and adhering to safety standards and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple service tasks.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a service team.
