IFCSSM is hiring a Human Resource Generalist to help create a culturally responsive workplace. This role in Sault Ste. Marie focuses on promoting equity, well-being, and Indigenous values throughout HR functions.

As the HR Generalist, you will lead recruitment, employee relations, and policy development initiatives. Utilizing your understanding of Indigenous cultural practices, you will support the organization’s commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive work environment while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities: • Provide HR services aligned with Indigenous practices • Facilitate equitable recruitment and onboarding initiatives • Enhance employee relations using culturally secure approaches • Develop HR policies in compliance with applicable laws • Collaborate on workplace wellness and safety programs

Requirements: • Lived experience as an Indigenous person • 2-5 years in Human Resources, preferred in urban settings • Knowledge of anti-racist and decolonial HR practices • Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office • Degree in Human Resources or related discipline
