Location: Holden, Alberta, a village southeast of Edmonton, Alberta (https://holdenruralacademy.ca)

Holden Rural Academy is looking for a qualified junior/senior high school teacher to teach Grade 10 Math and team teach English Language Arts 10 for the first semester of the 2026-2027 school year (September/26-January /27). This is a temporary position with a possibility of extension to the second semester.

Holden Rural Academy (HRA) is a public charter school that opened in September 2022. We seek to meet the unique needs of rural students: education that validates their rural experiences, collaborates with local businesses and organizations, and is accessible to every student. HRA offers a grades 7 - 12 program that operates on a 4 day school week.

About the School: Our philosophy of Place-Based Education capitalizes on local community places, resources and expertise to provide an effective context for learning. We provide our students with an educational setting that employs cooperative strategies to integrate the school and community, and to extend the school curriculum beyond the school.





Candidate Profile : HRA is looking for a high-energy, dynamic teacher who is able and willing to embrace rural place-based education. The successful candidate will facilitate active learning experiences built through relationships and trust.

Education: Bachelor of Education Degree

Hiring a 1.0 FTE high school junior/high school teacher to teach Grade 10 Math and team teach English Language Arts 10 and other duties as needed for the first semester of the 2026-2027 school year.
