The Casual Employee position provides flexible, as-needed support across KidsFirst North and Early Years Family Resource Centre initiatives. This role is designed to respond to a wide range of program, family, and centre needs and may involve varied duties depending on daily operations, staffing needs, and community activities. Casual employees play an key role in supporting a welcoming, safe, and responsive environment for children and families.

Terms of Employment: Casual, on-call hours as needed

Duties may vary and will be assigned by appointed supervisor which may include, and not limited to:

- Supporting early years programing, group activities, and family-centered events
- Assisting with child supervision and creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment
- Supporting families through positive interaction, encouragement, and practical assistance
- Helping with program set-up, clean-up, organization, and general centre operations
- Providing coverage or assistance during staff absences, high-needs periods, or special initiatives
- Supporting outreach,



meal/snack preparation, or material distribution as needed
- Completing basic documentation and communicating relevant observations to permanent staff
- Adhering to program policies, confidentiality requirements, and safety standards

Qualifications:
- Relevant education, training, or experience in early childhood, family support, community services, or a related field is an asset
- Experience working with children and/or families in a group or community setting is preferred
- Ability to work a flexible, casual schedule, including short-notice or varied shifts
- Willingness to complete required orientation, training, and professional development
- Valid criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening (or willingness to obtain)
- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle may be required for some assignments
