Who we are

You know those big cities that still feel like small towns? Where everyone’s friendly and helps each other out? That’s like Doane Grant Thornton. Except here we’re all professionals and there isn’t a mayor or a general store.

What we’re trying to say is that we’re a large and growing professional services firm that still feels like a community. We employ about 3000 people across Canada, and we truly care about our colleagues, our clients and the communities where we work and live. That’s what’s most important to us.

We’re building a thriving organization that’s purpose driven and still want to remember what your favourite milkshake flavour is.

Why join our Indigenous Services practice?

This is an opportunity to help grow a distinct and purposeful area of practice within the firm. You will work with a collaborative team that is building trusted, culturally informed relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations across British Columbia and beyond. The work is varied, meaningful, and often connected to community growth, business formation, governance, land and resource opportunities, intergenerational planning, and reconciliation in practice.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to thought leadership, participate in sector events, support internal education, and help shape how Doane Grant Thornton delivers integrated Assurance, Tax, and Advisory services in the Indigenous sector.

This Manager role is part of Doane Grant Thornton’s growing Indigenous Services focus and is designed for someone who wants to build a meaningful practice serving Indigenous clients. The successful candidate will work with First Nations governments, Indigenous-owned businesses, Economic Development Corporations, Indigenous non‑profits, entrepreneurs, and organizations working alongside Indigenous communities. Building trusted, culturally informed relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations by taking time to understand each client’s governance structure, community priorities, capacity needs, and vision for sustainable growth

Collaborating with Assurance, Advisory, Indirect Tax, and other specialists to deliver integrated support for Indigenous clients, including governance, internal controls, funding, financial reporting, strategic planning, and capacity‑building initiatives

Contributing to the growth of Doane Grant Thornton’s Indigenous Services Group by identifying opportunities, sharing knowledge, supporting thought leadership, participating in community and sector events, and helping colleagues connect Indigenous opportunities with the appropriate sector specialists
