Role Description The Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator is a part-time, hybrid role based in Vancouver, BC, with a combination of on-site and work-from-home tasks. This position is responsible for planning and executing marketing campaigns to promote workshops and events, managing social media channels, and creating digital and print content that aligns with the organization’s mission. The coordinator will cultivate relationships with schools, community organizations, and local partners, coordinate outreach activities, and support event logistics before, during, and after workshops.
Day-to-day tasks include community engagement, maintaining contact lists and calendars, tracking participation metrics, assisting with registration processes,
and providing feedback to improve program visibility and impact.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Community Engagement and Community Outreach to build and maintain strong relationships with families, schools, and local partners.
- Strong Communication abilities, including clear writing, public speaking, and interpersonal communication suited to diverse audiences.
- Experience in Event Planning and coordinating workshops, community events, or educational programs.
- Background in Community Organizing, with the ability to mobilize participants and stakeholders around shared goals.
- Knowledge of basic marketing principles, social media management, and content creation for community-focused initiatives.
- Organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a part time schedule.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment, including occasional evenings or weekends for events.
- Interest in architecture, design, education, or youth programming is an asset.
- Relevant education or training in communications, marketing, community development, or a related field is preferred.
