Role Description This is a full-time, in office Materials Analyst role based in the Newmarket Area, Canada.

The Materials

Analyst is responsible for monitoring and analyzing material requirements, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting production planning to ensure timely availability of materials. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing demand forecasts, tracking stock levels, identifying discrepancies, and coordinating with purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to optimize materials flow. The role also involves preparing reports, evaluating material usage trends, and recommending process improvements to reduce waste and prevent stockouts or overstock.



The successful candidate will collaborate across departments to align materials management with production schedules and customer delivery timelines.

Qualifications

- Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and support decision-making in materials and inventory management.
- Experience with inventory control and materials management, including tracking stock levels, cycle counts, and reconciliation of variances.
- Knowledge of production planning processes, with the ability to align material requirements with manufacturing schedules and customer demand.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with production, purchasing, logistics, and management, and to present clear reports and recommendations.
- Proficiency with ERP or MRP systems and spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel) for data analysis and reporting.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Relevant post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Knowledge of metal manufacturing or related industrial sectors is an asset, along with familiarity with lean or continuous improvement practices.
