Position Summary Morskate Manufacturing is expanding in a big way! We're adding 90,000+ sq. ft. to our facility and investing in exciting new technology as we continue to grow. With this expansion comes an exciting opportunity—we are currently seeking a dependable and hardworking Labourer to join our growing team.

Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, you will play a key support role in daily shop operations by preparing materials, assisting welders and fabricators, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. This position is well-suited for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute to an efficient production workflow.

Responsibilities/Tasks

Clean, prep, and organize steel parts prior to fabrication or welding

Kit parts and materials according to drawings, work orders, or supervisor instructions

Assist welders and fabricators by staging, moving, and preparing materials and components

Grind, deburr, clean, and inspect parts as required

Load, unload, and move materials safely within the shop using appropriate equipment

Perform general shop housekeeping, including sweeping, waste removal, and maintaining organized work areas





Operate basic hand tools such as grinders, drills, and measuring tools as trained

Assist with basic shop equipment operation as required and trained (saws, drill press, ironworker, etc.)

Safely operate overhead cranes and other material-handling equipment as trained

Follow all safety procedures and participate in pre-use inspections

Support production teams to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of work

Requirements/Qualifications

Ability to read and understand basic drawings, sketches, and work instructions

Basic knowledge of materials and a general understanding of metals is an asset

Ability to accurately use measuring tools such as tape measures (Metric & Imperial)

Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain on your feet for extended periods

Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Good attention to detail when cleaning, preparing, and organizing parts

Willingness to learn and follow instructions

Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English clearly

We offer competitive starting wages beginning at $21 - $26 per hour, with final rates determined by your experience, skill level, and how well you align with the role.
